CyberSec4Europe

CyberSec4Europe's vision is the European Union that possesses all the skills necessary to secure and maintain a democratic society aligned with European constitutional values, particularly regarding the protection of shared data and privacy. The CyberSec4Europe consortium consists of 43 partners from 22 Member States of the European Union and associated countries dedicated to research, development, and testing in the field of cybersecurity.

Motivation

The CyberSec4Europe project connects the expertise and experience of the involved parties, mainly through testing and demonstration of management structures for competence center networks. It also plays an essential role in addressing key EU directives and regulations such as GDPR, PSD2, eIDAS, and ePrivacy, implementing the EU Cyber Security or Development Act, and specifying the role of the European Network Cybersecurity Agency (ENISA).

CyberSec4Europe contributes critical knowledge and experience from research and projects to the EU cybersecurity sphere. The comprehensive knowledge base of the project also offers practical solutions to cybersecurity problems. Europe's role as a pioneer in researching, developing, and addressing cybersecurity issues is realized by the project consortium consisting of non-profit research institutions, university laboratories, multinationals, and small and medium-sized enterprises in the economic sector. The consortium's capabilities and reach allow to establish a broad governance structure and expand cybersecurity research.

Specifics of the project

The CyberSec4Europe project connects an extensive network of research sites and cybersecurity expertise at an interdisciplinary level. It also contributes to building a future European cybersecurity competence network. The project consists of five main pillars:

Public administration

The project emphasizes creating a feasible and sustainable model of management of the cybersecurity competence network using the research results of the involved partners.

Cooperation

An essential aspect of the project is also the strengthening of collaboration between research institutes and the industrial sector. Their interconnection ensures a unique and broad coverage of critical areas, while at the same time unifying knowledge and its prospective use at European and global level.

Future-oriented European competence

The training of future generations of cybersecurity experts requires a constant expansion of the skill pool and access to necessary facilities for research, development, and testing.

EU leadership in cybersecurity

The CyberSec4Europe project highlights the EU's research and innovation potential to build next-generation digital technologies and quality solutions and services with strong market potential.

Support for industry

Finally, the project emphasizes the consistent strengthening of the European industry, addressing cybersecurity issues, and enhancing the single digital market.
